prom time....

i had the wonderful opportunity to shoot some pictures of a gorgeous couple headed out for his senior prom this evening.

the dress was selected....


...as were the shoes.....


....toes and fingers got pampered all in preparation for the big night...



and then this gorgeous guy came to pick up his date.....



.... ok, ok while he is a real cutie pie, he's got a little competition...


and i don't think he was disappointed in his date!

in fields of clover

i am a sucker for a beautiful landscape. and fortunately where i live, i'm surrounded by them. just a few miles from my house is a field full of this.....



for those of you who failed ag101, it's red clover, often planted by local farmers to replenish the soil. they usually just let it bloom and then plow it under.

fortunately for unusual photographers like me, when it blooms it is a fabulous, deep magenta. all i needed was a few willing subjects. no such luck, i just found these three......



after being promised popsicles and told yes, they could race each other in the clover, we got down to business. here are a few of my favorites.

now if i can only get a different red head to come south so i can put her and her beautiful babies in that field....... :)

and the seasons begin...

well, 2 seasons have officially started.

for me, the website is officially up and running!!
ervinmabry photography can now be seen from sisseton, south dakota, to colorado springs, colorado, to corpus christi, texas, to little ole' china grove, north carolina!! ( and you guys know who i'm talking about!!)


the second season is ..... little league baseball!! ( coach pitch). technically, it started on super saturday.






tonight we played game #3. this is our first round of organized team sports. so far, ok. i'm not a "sports mom" on a large scale, but if it teaches him hand-eye coordination, communication skills, how to play fair, and wears him out so he'll sleep in on saturday mornings, then i'm all for it.

besides, with a sponsor like the stag-n-doe, how can you go wrong?

my niece, the firey red head, is also on the team, which makes it easier on the grandparents!


we look forward to great seasons for the hurricanes and the business!

here goes...

ok. i've done it.

the website is created, i'm just waiting on a response about the music.

it will "go live" hopefully by this weekend, one way or another.

i'm not really sure about blogging for all of you. i mean, i blog, but basically for myself.

BUT, all of my reading famous photographers' sites has ingrained in me what a POWERFUL tool blogging is for my business. and THAT is exactly what i want!

One person I do want to thank is this lovely lady here, one of my college roommates - lh. her belief in me has been unwavering. she's honest about everything and she always lets me wear clothes out of her closet!

without her and a few others i'll mention later, i know i'd never have taken this step.
i feel enormously blessed!
