back again....

little miss "K" and her 2 big brothers are back! she just turned three months and her mom has hired me to document her first year.

right now, she's all wide-eyed...

and can laugh & giggle with the best of them!
couldn't you just eat her up?!

it's usually mom or brother "J" who bring out those smiles.

while i was there, we had to take a few for the christmas cards.

her brothers were all "spiffied up" for their shots. they couldn't let little sister out do them!

mr. serious.....

mr. silliness...

and the whole gang together!

meet mo

what a crazy weekend! a photo shoot friday afternoon, tons of errands & house cleaning saturday morning, and a wedding saturday night. ( yes, i know, i don't do weddings, but this one was different!)

but back to friday.

that's when i got the wonderful privilege of meeting Mo.

- twelve and half years old - only "child" of "J" -
she wanted some shots taken of her little guy to use as christmas cards, but also to document someone who's been in her life as long as she can remember.

Mo took center stage friday afternoon as we strolled through davidson. he flirted with the ladies leaving campus, was affectionately sweet to the kids on bikes who stopped to rub him, and enviously eyed the frisbee some co-eds were slinging around.

he also probably got more treats in one afternoon than he gets in a whole month, but his mama was out to spoil him! here he is ready to pounce!

davidson's colorful fire hydrants caught his eye too!

fortunately, friday morning's rain had stopped by the time we met and the cloud cover created some nice autumn light. we even caught a little sun flare!

mo & "J" - thanks for a wonderful friday afternoon stroll. i had a blast!

it's all about the story

yesterday afternoon i got to meet 3 generations of a wonderful family. we took a few pictures at their house, then made our way over to a local park for more.

they have four children of their own,

but a neighbor's grandson is also considered part of their clan.

grandma & grandpa came along to complete the picture.

as the afternoon passed, we talked about how pictures really do tie generations together - those who knew each other and lived together, but more importantly, the generations of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who won't experience each other.

pictures tell stories themselves, but they also remind and inspire us to tell them, to relive the laughter, the hardships, the adventures, and the love.
you know, you've done it, whether you intended to or not.

so you'll fully understand that when i started processing these early this morning, i couldn't help but smile and even laugh out loud at certain points. just imagine the conversations that will take place as children, grandchildren, and great-grand children browse through these!

grandma used to be a professional dancer!

now, she's just busy training for her next heavy weight boxing title :)

and being the family comedian!

looks like they've been paying attention!

and now for some individual shots......

lastly, for mom & dad, trying to squeeze a little romance in with all these kids is sometimes impossible......

...especially when they all yell "EEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!" if you try and steal a kiss!

no matter the characters or the setting, this family's got a fabulous story! thanks guys for letting me help tell it!

i've been swamped with my "other jobs" this week, and only have time to post a few.

last weekend on one of the MOST beautiful days of the year, i drove to the mountains to meet this vivacious little lady,

her big brother,

and her dog.

she was as sweet as they come, but as children will be children, once she discovered the fountain, well.......

luckily mom brought a change of clothes!!

to quote fannie flagg...

"Welcome to the world baby girl!!"

Meet "K".

And she is just as precious, and sweet, and funny as she appears to be.
Here are a few I love.

The expression on her mama's face says it all!

Enjoy her while she's little, because before you know it, she'll be asking for the car keys!!
