a P31 girl

many photographers try to avoid shooting in direct, overhead light. it's can be harsh and isn't always flattering on people's faces. however, it is extremely bright - revealing everything that needs to be seen.

there are people whose spirit is much the same - bright & shining, showing off what's important in life. yesterday i had the wonderful privilege of photographing a woman who is that type of a light.

meet amy.

amy is a speaker for proverbs 31 which is a women's ministry organization out of matthews. it's a wonderful organization that has provided much insight & inspiration for me. i get my daily devotions from P31 and thoroughly enjoy what all the writers & speakers share on the site.

when she needed a few head shots and some fun stuff of her family for a magazine article, she contacted me. truly honored & humbled by her request, i got to spend part of the afternoon with her family & hope that i was able to capture some of the brightness that she & her entire family are filled with!

amy is the only female in the house, except for the dog, who, according to barry, gets more attention than he does. despite all the testosterone [or maybe because of it ;) ], amy has a great sense of humor - as do all of the guys.

amy & her guys barry, anson, & nolan.

the "official score keeper"!

we found the layout of this hole perfect for amy's work.

amy, barry, anson, & nolan - thanks for a wonderful afternoon & a very GOOD friday!

Sally,
You know I've checked this blog every hour today! I LOVE what I've seen so far, but that's nothing compared to how what you wrote touched my heart. Thank you so much for making our time so much fun. You are a blessing to us.

Much love,
Amy
